To begin practicing the chromatic scale:
1. Start by playing the sixth string "open"
2. Move your index finger on the hand you will fret with and press the first fret on the sixth string. Press it again.

4. Utilize the ring finger to press the 3rd fret and play the sixth string.
5. Use the little finger to press down the fourth fret and play the sixth string back again.

You have now played your first scale!
Other scales include the Major Scale and the Minor Pentatonic Scale. You will be trained on these scales as you keep on playing the guitar.
